Adopt-a-Classroom

The Adopt-A-Classroom program “matches” Chicago classrooms with Farm Writers from across the state in order to educate those students and teachers about the importance of agriculture in our everyday lives. From fall to spring, the Farm Writer will interact with students through photos, letters, videos or even visits explaining their contribution to the food and fiber system in Illinois. They may also send samples of seeds, farm magazines, books, lessons or activities for the classroom. In return, students will write letters to the Farm Writer with questions and comments about agriculture or the Farm Writer’s farm in particular.
